LSOF: Beyond the Busyness

LSOF: Beyond the Busyness

I got up early this morning to tag along with my mom to her Dr. Appt.;
We live pretty much in the boondocks of Deltona, it just takes forever to get somewhere. Her appointment was all the way out in Orlando.

I am quite used to going with her, I have been since I was a young child, but I don’t really let the boredom get to me. I’ve learned that having that moment of waiting, having to be patient, can be the most rewarding experience in the world.

I looked around in the room, and glimpsed at each person, they were also all in waiting mode. (45 min delay of appt.) and they were doing nothing but sitting.

Of course, sitting is not a bad thing to do in a Dr’s office, but for a girl who has about a ten to fifteen min attention span, sitting for 2 1/2 hrs, would not do it for me.

So I went outside, and turned on my ipod. I’m in the middle of Orlando, and its a bright and shining day, and everyone around me seemed to be just going about their business.

A gentleman was talking on his cel phone outside the doors, a car was coming out of the parking lot in front of me, another car was passing by on the side of me, and a plane flew overhead…a world full of busyness.

I tuned my ipod to ” I stand amazed ” by Passion, and I gotta tell you, watching the world churn around me, and my very focus was just on God’s praise alone…I closed my eyes, and actually began singing aloud.

I don’t know if people heard or not, and I don’t care if they did, what God showed me today was just because the world has its craziness it is no excuse to not find someway to spend sometime with Him alone.

Beyond all the busyness, is where you will find God.

I will also add that I have no idea if the person on the cel phone was talking to a friend about God, whether either of the cars were listening to praise music, or if someone was praying on the plane that passed overhead.

I only know I was the one in awe of God at that moment, and falling for the beautiful words that described His attributes.

For those who have never heard of this powerful song, I will share with you now:

I Stand Amazed(How Marvelous)

I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner, condemned, unclean.
Chorus
How marvelous! How wonderful!
And my song shall ever be,
How marvelous! How wonderful!
Is my Savior·s love for me!
He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calvary,
And suffered and died alone.
(repeat chorus)
When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
·Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.
(repeat chorus)

  1. Thanks for introducing yourself! I am always up for meeting new people!!
    I love that song!! I grew up singing it and I miss it. I grew up singing the old hymns and loving them. Most churches have shyed away from them and it hurts my heart. But I have more hymn cds than any other style. Intrumental, choral, etc. Can’t beat the message that is consistently found in those oldies!
    Hope to get to know you better!
