One song I am LOVING right now is Third Day’s, ” Casting Crowns.”
Listening to it, made me picture a trip I took to Aquire the Fire one year with my PRF Youth group.
If anyone has been to FL before, then you KNOW how easy it is to get lost here.
Especially where I live.
Deltona; there is this on going joke that the people who created the streets of Deltona are still lost themselves here.
Other rumors are that a plate of spagetti was dropped on the floor and that created the way the streets would go, and the other rumor was that at one time this was a place for the witness protection program…
If you ever come here, you will see what I am talking about. Actually, I figured I would put up a map. I think it will give you a pretty good idea.
I have friends who live in FL, who will NOT come visit me out of fear of never being seen again like where I live is the Bermuda Triangle!
Anyway, so getting back to what I was saying…
I was on my way to the conference with my Music Pastor’s wife; Lisa Wycuff, My Youth Counselor; Kim Rathburn, and a girl I knew awhile back in youth Alyssa.
I remember I wasn’t an avid reader of the bible, I was only 18 at the time, but even then it was so awesome how God spoke, and it would shock all of us.
It was getting to be sunset and we had completely lost track of any of the other groups, and so we prayed for God to help us find our way.
While we did that, I randomly opened my bible. To this verse.
BOOK V : Psalms 107-150
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say this—
those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
3 those he gathered from the lands,
from east and west, from north and south. [a]
4 Some wandered in desert wastelands,
finding no way to a city where they could settle.
5 They were hungry and thirsty,
and their lives ebbed away.
6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
7 He led them by a straight way
to a city where they could settle.
8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for men,
9 for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.
I read it aloud to everyone in the car, and all of our eyes pretty much bulged out of our heads.
Within a couple minutes we had contact with the other group.
It was pretty cool.
Everytime I have gotten lost since then, I just close my eyes in faith and tell Jesus I KNOW He knows the way…
In all things:)
