Notes:)
What is it you want Jesus to do in your life?
Philippians 3:3-12
“Press on to take hold of that as Jesus Christ has taken hold of me.”

Apprehend (katalambano) – “to take eagerly, i.e.: to seize, to possess, apprehend, comprehend, perceive,
overtake.
Christ Jesus has apprehended you for a certain set of reasons:
Acts 9:1-6
Acts 9
Saul’s Conversion
1Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest 2and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
5″Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. 6″Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
Before it was called Christianity, it was called the WAY.
If you belong to Jesus Christ; He takes EVERYTHING that happens to you.
Saul went to do the arresting, and got arrested by Jesus.
Philippians 3:1-6
Philippians 3
No Confidence in the Flesh
1Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.
2Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh. 3For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh— 4though I myself have reasons for such confidence.
If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: 5circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; 6as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless.

He asked for zeal, persecuting the church; persecute (dioko); to pursue, to chase, to hunt down.
Philippians 3:12
12Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Jesus asked Saul, “Why are you persecuting me?” Beth Moore added, “I’ll show you how to hunt me down Saul.”
Believers walk: A race to win, not just participate in.
He’s talking running, because you are CHASING something.
We were created for PASSION- to get excited. We run after whatever fires us up! Zeal.
Philippians 3:7-8
7But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8What is more; I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.
Paul wants to know Christ, because of what he had already SEEN.
Philippians 3:10(amplified)
10[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [[a]which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]
Acts 9:22
22Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Christ.[a]
Proving-(symbibazo); together to with. “to drive, or knit together.”
Colassians 2:13(KJV)
13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

Celebrate Easter: then what?
You should live it so long that you can’t even sing the praise, but bawl.
If you have a need greater then Jesus Christ being raised from the dead, then He ain’t your man.
The resurrection has power over our lives everyday-
YET WE LIVE LIKE WE ARE DEAD!
Galatians 1:11-17
Paul Called by God
11I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. 12I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.
13For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14I was advancing in Judaism beyond many Jews of my own age and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15But when God, who set me apart from birth[a] and called me by his grace, was pleased 16to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man, 17nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went immediately into Arabia and later returned to Damascus.

Galatians 2
Paul Accepted by the Apostles
1Fourteen years later I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. I took Titus along also. 2I went in response to a revelation and set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. But I did this privately to those who seemed to be leaders, for fear that I was running or had run my race in vain.
Phillipians 3:12-14
We have been called to an upward calling.
Before(Acts 24)
24″The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. 25And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. 26From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. 27God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. 28’For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
29″Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by man’s design and skill. 30In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. 31For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead.
Before you were born God set your foundation-important to your influence and generation you live in…
25 things Jesus Christ meant for us to do, 25 should be checked off by the time we die.
Next time revelation:
Christ Jesus- when He sees us we are willing, He forms a zeal in us. Hunt for a fresh revelation!
Get a fresh revelation;
How we know the next thing we are to apprehend.
Learn how to grasp hold of it when Jesus turns around.
Have to be looking at it to recognize it.

Jesus will never tell you what to do without SHOWING you who HE is in God’s word.
Phillipians 3:12-13
Pressing on Toward the Goal
12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,
One reason we don’t get it; we aren’t looking in the right direction.
Behind—meaning; backward.
(Beth Moore had us turn around and face the back of the auditorium.)
We can be caught in yesterday’s victory- We need fresh highlights.
(used her highlight story on the LPM blog)
Forgetting doesn’t mean we don’t remember—it no longer motivates us.
When God has a new place to take us to apprehend—we will question ourselves right then more than anytime in our lives.
Jesus will ALWAYS attack our confidence in the flesh!
Phillipians 3:7(NET)
“ These assets I have come to regard, because of Christ.”
We have natural assets—when it comes to our calling.
We better know we are liable and be suspectful of it.
Natual assets(gifts) in the flesh are a liability in the Spiritual.
Regrets—might have been—waste of energy.(to which I clapped and accidentially dropped my pen into the person in front of me..OOPS!)
Revelation:
Comprehension; what is it?—Grasping it spiritually.
Apprehension: what is it?—Take, and step into it; grasping experiencingly.
Day 2(yes, I know the 1st day was a lot
Phillipians 2
When we were born, we were already set apart.
If we have been apprehended what we’ve been apprehended for, we will get a fresh revelation.
You are more than what you have become, you are called for more, then who you are now.
“ straining toward:-hyper
Greek(epekteino); “ to stretch oneself forward upon.”
Natural person cannot do what God has called us to do.
“ The eye goes before and draws on the hand, the hand goes before and draws on the foot.”- Lightfoot.
RevelationComprehension(grasping spiritually)Apprehension(grasping experiencingly).
You and I have to learn how to press through, we are more than overcomers—it is ours if we can take it.
4 Obstacles we need to press through:
1. Dread—Daily rehearsal of every advance defeat. Paralyzes us, we can’t press in—because of our UNBELIEF.—It discounts the grace of God.
Phillipians 4:19
19And (A)my God will supply all your needs according to His (B)riches in glory in Christ Jesus
– We want Him to give it to us, before we need it..
We need to stretch forward through DREAD.
2. Comparision—John 21:15
Jesus Reinstates Peter
15When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
Comparison feelings—Matthew 26:31-33
Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial
31Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written:
” ‘I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'[a] 32But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”
33Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.”
Peter disowns Jesus 3 times.
You will never be sifted unless you need sifting(AMEN!)
Don’t compare ourselves—more then less.
Love and feelings.
Comparison of callings—Don’t be apprehended with someonelses calling.
2 Corinthians 10:12-14
12We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. 13We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the field God has assigned to us, a field that reaches even to you. 14We are not going too far in our boasting, as would be the case if we had not come to you, for we did get as far as you with the gospel of Christ.
“ Stretch not beyond.”
John 21
Prayer of Jabez
1 Chronicles 4:10
10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
“ Whatever we go through is apart of our destiny.”
Every single suffering is to bring us to our destiny.
The Prayer of Jabez is great, but God might want to use, and enlarge the territory you are already in.
1 Peter 1:8
8Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
3. Conflict:
Philippians 3
No Confidence in the Flesh
1Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.
2Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh.
If you have people, you have conflict.
4. Difficulty: Anything that kills us, God will RAISE us from!

Romans 10
Romans 10
1Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. 4Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: “The man who does these things will live by them.”[a] 6But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?'[b]” (that is, to bring Christ down) 7″or ‘Who will descend into the deep?'[c]” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”[d] that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”[e] 12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

A new city:
Phillipians 3:12-14
Let Jesus say to you: You became everything I wanted you to be.
There will be no concept of time.
Hebrews 11:10
10For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
Psalm 19
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
3 There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard. [a]
4 Their voice [b] goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun,
5 which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is hidden from its heat.
7 The law of the LORD is perfect,
reviving the soul.
The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the LORD are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is pure,
enduring forever.
The ordinances of the LORD are sure
and altogether righteous.
10 They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the comb.
11 By them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
12 Who can discern his errors?
Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then will I be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.
14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Not only has God designed heaven, but He designed it for perfection.
Phillipans 3:20
20But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Phillipians 2:6-11
6Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
Our attitude should be the sameness, as Jesus Christ.
Jesus came to take on are lowly bodies, from the humiliation of man.
He came in fashion, and form as a servant—did a reverse for us.
1 Corinthians 1:13
What we have in common, is a NEW home.
Press on…Philippians 3
