I thought I would share some pictures of the flooding that is still existing a couple weeks after Fay, and a week after Gustav…ugh.
The first one is a pic of the lake wall of Lake Monroe. It is usually 6.0 when it crests, and it is now +7.5ft.
Okay, now I am going to show you a picture of the boat ramp…NO boats are allowed on any of the lakes.
(this isn’t a recent pic either…my dad and I went to look at it yesterday, and you can’t even see the sand parking lot, or even know a ramp exists…it looked like a guy was fishing, sitting on a bench in the middle of the lake.)
This picture is of a house that seems to look like an island.
Okay and this last picture my mom and I took a couple weeks ago.
It is a neighborhood by where she lives in Deltona.
This is why we can’t have anymore water…and the reason it is sticking around, and getting higher…the St. Johns river is like the Nile River in Africa, it runs from south to north.
Therefore all the water from the last two storms, are still traveling.
Not fun.
So please keep us all in your prayers, there are places further south that look worse than what I’ve shown you.
Be blessed:)
