Here at night: a poem

Here at night…

Here at night as the bittersweetness of the day fades from memory…
I soak in music that speaks of your love and belief of your power…
Here at night as the season of paradise won and paradise lost, sowing and reaping, giving and taking finally lets my soul rest…
I lay back on my pillow and through the crevice of a wicker headboard I see the moon…
Here at night as I look above, I’m reminded that you love me through the deepest crevices of my heart…
Here at night as I let the moonlight cover the room…The world socializes about mindless chatter, heartache and hunger grows all the more, and hopes are torn away…
Here I am, Here at night comforted that I matter to you…
Here at night though the world may fear, and people don’t know where to turn…
You are the light guiding sight,
Through all the day, and even….                   Here at night.
